2012 architects made this extension in 2003 out of discarded doors for the organisation Optrek. It gave access to the roof and formed a billboard to the street. Optrek organizes art projects in areas that are due to be demolished.
2012 made a 70cm wide cut in the intersection of the façade and the roof. This exposed the underlying building structure which was due to be demolished. The cut was covered by 8 back doors of neighbouring properties; this created a roof window, billboard, access to the roof and a dining space on the roof.

Artists and shopkeepers refurnish rooms in houses soon to be demolished, or in new builds not yet sold, into 1 to 5 star hotel rooms. The rooms are diverse in terms of furniture, luxury and price to attract a large target market, from students to businessmen. When the homes are sold or demolished, the hotel moves on.
